R&B Star has achieved the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver accreditation.
The independent and family run electrical wholesaler based in Kent and London discovered the FORS accreditation when tendering for large contracts in London.
The scheme encompasses safety, fuel efficiency, vehicle emissions and improved operations.
“FORS Silver demonstrates our commitment to good practice, and enables us to support our customers on important projects.
“FORS has helped our approach to fleet management, staff development, and given us access to relevant training. We are now working towards FORS Gold,” said Craig Robertson, compliance manager at R&B Star.
Robertson has undertaken training to become a FORS Practitioner. The practitioner training covers nine units from managing work related road safety, safe and efficient fleet management to monitoring and measuring road fleet performance.
R&B Star has also taken the opportunity to ensure all its drivers receive the Van Smart Training course, endorsed by DVSA.
“The day course consists of a theory and practical module and provided our drivers with the knowledge, skills and tools they would be able to put in to practice to ensure they are safe, diligent, more efficient and professional drivers.
“The practice session in the afternoon saw them receiving instruction to improve their awareness of vulnerable road users and the issues cyclists may face on public roads,” Robertson added.
