Bishopsgate Specialist Logistics & Installations has adopted a new Mandata vehicle tracking and fleet behaviour solution to improve driving standards and reduce costs.

The solution will enable the company, which specialises in the transportation, storage and installation of fragile, sensitive or outsized equipment for the healthcare, IT, telecommunications, banking, safe and UPS, office machine, fitness and vending  sectors to capture and analyse vehicle and driver performance data to understand issues and improve driving standards.

The company will share 50% of the cost savings achieved among its driving workforce.

Tim Bloch, managing director of Tim Bloch, said: “The system gives drivers, driver trainers and operational staff visibility of both vehicle and driver performance allowing the company to promote positive driving styles, with the aim of reducing fuel costs, maintaining road safety and providing its customers with peace of mind that standards are being monitored.

“Since the new tracking system was installed earlier this year, we are starting to feed data back to drivers via the driver behaviour app and we now hope to build on initial reductions in fuel costs, as well as reduced fault accidents and incidents of harsh driving.

“Ultimately these reductions will be fed back to the team at the end of year one.”

Bishopsgate runs a fleet of 60 vehicles and has a workforce that includes more than 100 drivers and installation specialists.

It has been using Mandata transport management software since 2001 as part of a strategy built around technology to improve its services, achieve efficiencies and drive growth across frontline operations.
