Haulage operator PET has invested £500,000 in expanding its fleet by taking delivery of new trailers and a range of Renault vehicles that include enhanced efficiency, reliability and safety features and meet the latest emission requirements.

PET, which is based at East Goscote near Leicester, is part of the Palletways network and has also upgraded its forklift fleet and purchased two new forklift trucks and one electric pallet truck.

The investment will help the company handle increasing pallet volumes and enhance driver safety and comfort.

Vanessa Perry, managing director at PET, said: “It’s important that we continually invest in the best equipment so we can deliver the best possible service to our customers at home and abroad.

"We believe this recent investment sends out a strong signal to the marketplace about our capabilities which we believe are unparalleled amongst our competitors.

“We also recognise that tail-lift deliveries can be physically demanding for drivers. Investing in an electric pump truck will assist them with their day to day activities.

"Palletways is forecasting a substantial growth in the home delivery sector over the coming years and this equipment will support this future growth.”
