National Windscreens has been appointed by Royal Mail as sole supplier for its windscreen repair, replacement and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) calibration requirements.
Royal Mail has a fleet of 49,000 vehicles, delivering to around 30 million addresses, and National Windscreens will provide its glass fitting and calibration service to vehicles based at delivery offices throughout the UK.
Paul Gatti, Royal Mail fleet director, said: “It is very important for us to ensure our vehicles are off the road for a minimum amount of time during any repair or maintenance so that we can continue to offer a first class service to all our customers, no matter where they are.”
National Windscreens has invested more than £2 million in ADAS calibration technology, providing a one-stop service for windscreen replacement and ADAS calibration throughout its network.
With the number of vehicles using ADAS expected to grow to 40% by 2020, an increasing number of vehicles within the Royal Mail fleet will feature this technology.
Royal Mail is the latest fleet and insurance contract win for National Windscreens. It has previously announced contracts with Days Rental, Lex Autolease, Zenith, Fleet Hire, Zurich and others.
