Police in Country Antrim have recovered a stolen Hitachi digger worth £20,000 in a matter of hours, thanks to Tracker’s technology.
Once the stolen digger was reported, the PSNI used their vehicles fitted with Tracker technology to locate it.
Luckily, for the owners, the signal led the police to its location within a few hours. It was returned to the owners before its absence could impact their business.
Tracker’s head of police liaison Clive Wain said: “Losing a Hitachi digger worth £20,000 is no minor inconvenience for a business, especially for smaller firms.
"Stolen machinery results in lost work, due to downtime, not to mention increased insurance premiums, if there’s a claim and the cost of replacing the plant.
“All too often, businesses are targeted by organised criminals who steal to order. But with the right precautions in place, the construction industry can close the net on the criminals.”
Unlike GPS only tracking systems, Tracker devices cannot be jammed by GPS/GSM jammers.
All of its products are Thatcham approved, so construction firms could benefit from a discount on their insurance premiums, said Tracker.

We had a Manitou stolen recently and because of the tracker fitted we were able to recover the vehicle within 2 hours of it being reported stolen. As the vehicle had been hidden so well, without the tracker it would never have been recovered. The tracker paid for itself just with that one incident.
