CitySprint has entered into an agreement to acquire the same day business of Leeds-based Sterling Services.
The firm provides same day delivery courier services, haulage and retail installation services to companies throughout the UK and Europe.
CitySprint have acquired the same day division of the business, along with eleven Sterling Services employees. Local customer contact details will remain the same.
Gary West, CEO at CitySprint, said: “As a valued supplier to local businesses in Leeds, we are delighted to welcome this part of their business to the CitySprint family. We’ll be working hard to ensure that it’s ‘business as usual’ for customers in Leeds and beyond.”
CitySprint has a regional network of 30-plus service centres across the UK, including a presence in Leeds, with a fleet of more than 5,000 vehicles, including vans, motorbikes, and low emission vehicles such as cargo bikes.
It provides delivery services directly to individuals, as well as to businesses in every part of the company, and its unique national same day delivery network can reach over 88% of mainland UK within 60 minutes.
The move, says CitySprint, supports its ongoing growth in light of continued rising demand for same day delivery, and will help it deliver on its strategy of improving service at a local level.
The deal will also give Sterling Service’s customers access to CitySprint’s service offer through a wider range of courier and logistics solutions.
