Technology and business solutions provider Konica Minolta is hoping to achieve savings of more than £90,000 across its UK fleet of service engineers with connected fleet management from Webfleet Solutions.
It expects improvements in journey planning and driver performance across the company’s 161-strong car fleet that will see fuel spend reduced by 10%, saving the company around £39,000 a year.
Driven by a requirement to improve driver safety, OptiDrive 360 – a key component of the Webfleet fleet management platform – is now being used to score the service engineers’ driving performance and provide them with feedback, via an app on their smartphones, helping them manage risk and improve their mpg performance.
Data on driving events combines with Webfleet video footage from fully integrated dashcams, which it says provides greater visibility for more effective coaching and helping safeguard the drivers on the road.
The Webfleet logbook app, meanwhile, will enable the drivers keep accurate journey logs. Rather than completing manual mileage sheets at the end of each day or month, they validate their journey information and select whether their trips are for business or private purposes.
This, says Webfleet Solutions, is saving them an average of 45 minutes each month on claims administration, resulting in expected productivity gains worth more than £55,000 a year.
“Employee Engagement is very important to Konica Minolta and we’ve had strong feedback from our drivers on the ease of use of the Webfleet system and how it allows them to protect their privacy in line with GDPR,” said David Wynne, PP & IP UK service manager, Konica Minolta.
“This will help us deliver greater efficiency savings and raise the bar in road safety.
“In addition to saving them time, Webfleet Video will help safeguard them against fraudulent insurance claims in cases of non-fault incidents. They have even asked for the cameras to continue recording when they are parked up to help boost vehicle security.
“The benefits of the system are innumerable, it pays for itself and is set to offer the business a 200% return on investment within just three years.”
