Tesla has finally revealed a concept version of its long-awaited electric pick-up truck, and it is quite a thing to behold.

Looking like it drove straight off the set of a Judge Dredd re-make, the Cybertruck has an exposed stainless steel outer skin like a Delorean.

It’s angular body provides a wedge-like design with a covered load area.

Elon Musk said the body is resistant to damage from multiple implements, including 9mm rounds.

There will be three powertrain options available when the Cybertruck goes on sale in 2021.

The entry-level model will have a 250-mile range and manage a 0-60mph sprint in 6.5 seconds. Prices are expected to start at £30,600.

A mid-range all-wheel-drive version will nail 60mph in 4.5 seconds and tow more than 4,500Kg. It will cost around £38,000.

The range topping version will have more than 500 miles of range and accelerate to 60mph in 2.9 seconds. It is said to have a 6,350Kg towing capacity and a starting price of £53,700.

A minimalistic cabin offers eating for up to six, while the truck rides on air suspension giving it up to four-inches of adjustability for off-roading.

Whether the Cybertruck will ever be offered in the UK remains to be seen. While it may not seem a natural choice for fleet operators, it will provide zero-emission running.

The Rivian R1T is likely to be the first electric pick-up offered on our shores.
