British electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Munro has unveiled an all-wheel-drive electric pick-up truck that promises a range of 190 miles.
The MK_1 Pick-Up is priced at £49,995 (CV OTR) and first deliveries are expected to start later this year.
It provides a 1,050Kg payload and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity.
The powertrain utilises an 82.4kWh battery and a mechanical all-wheel-drive system.
Munro offers the vehicle with two power outputs. The Utility and Range variants produce 299PS, while a range-topping Performance model serves up 375PS and 700Nm.
Replenishing the battery from 15% to 80% can be undertaken using a 100kW DC charger in 36 minutes. With a fully charged battery, the vehicle has a range of more than 190 miles and Munro says it can operate off-road for up to 16 hours on a single charge.
Munro CEO and co-founder Russell Peterson said: “We launched Munro to fill the significant gap in the market for an electric-powered, four-wheel-drive, utilitarian workhorse. Our vehicles are designed and engineered without compromise from clean sheet principles unimpeded by any existing architecture. The result is a rugged construction created for decades of service delivering ultimate, go-anywhere, off-road ability."
The Munro MK_1 Pick-Up's official unveiling is taking place at Fully Charged Live North on May 19– 21.
Munro Vehicles, will build 50 vehicles in 2023 before transitioning to a new purpose-built site near Glasgow in 2024. Production will be ramped up to 250 vehicles per year with a strategic roadmap in place to deliver 2,500 units annually by 2027.
