Leapmotor International, the joint venture between Stellantis and Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor, has released more details about its all-electric SUV, the C10, which has a 69.9kWh battery offering up to 262 miles of range.

Priced from £36,500, the C10 is equipped with a 160kW motor (218hp) and 320Nm of torque.

One of the key elements of the C10’s powertrain is the energy recovery system, which includes both regenerative braking and the ‘freewheeling’ function.

The vehicle offers three driving modes to deal with various road conditions and driver preferences.

Battery thermal temperature management ensures excellent performance, says Leapmotor, with a system that intelligently manages the temperature of the battery pack, maintaining efficiency both in the charge and discharge phases.

The C10 SUV has been developed using cell-to-chassis technology, which integrates the battery cells into the structure of the vehicle.

The overall performance of the C10 is supported by an electric drive unit which leads to greater efficiency and range. The unit has been designed to last and has an expected lifespan of more than 370,000 miles.

The C10 is equipped with a 6.6 kW AC charger, which allows one to go from 30% to 80% battery capacity in around 6.1 hours; meanwhile, for a faster charge, the DC system allows the same result in just 30 minutes.

Inside the C10, the infotainment and connectivity system has been designed to offer an advanced and immersive experience.

The C10 integrates multifunction steering wheel controls, a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a 14.6-inch, high-definition central display.

The screens are laminated to reduce glare and improve visual quality in daylight and offer a smartphone-like experience with their completely touchscreen interface.

The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system can be remotely controlled via smartphone and includes a series of customisable options.

Meanwhile, the 2.1 metre squared panoramic sunroof floods the interiors with natural light.

There is 435 litres of boot capacity and when the rear seats are down this increases up to 1,410 litres. The boot can reach a maximum depth of 1,820mm and a width of 1,110mm.

The vehicle includes 26 storage spaces: 10 in the first row, 10 in the second row, and six in the boot.

The D-SUV also offers up to five charging locations throughout the vehicle: two in the front row (USB Type-A and Type-C) and two in the rear area (USB  Type-A and Type-C), in addition to a wireless 15W-charging pad.

Furthermore, the model offers voice interaction, responding to a wide range of voice commands, including those for navigation, climate, music, and communications control.

The C10 is launching in the UK with a one version line-up featuring a high level of specification as standard.

It is available in five colours - Canopy Grey, Pearly White, Tundra Grey, Glazed Green, and Metallic Black - along with standard-fit 20-inch alloy wheels.

Standard equipment includes electrically adjustable front seats (4-way for the passenger and 6-way for the driver), an automatic dual-zone, air-conditioning system, automatic LED headlights and taillights and electrically operated heated and folding exterior mirrors.

The vehicle is also equipped with rear parking sensors and a 360-degree panoramic camera, making parking easier and safer in tight spaces.

Leveraging the Stellantis distribution channels, sales points for Leapmotor vehicles in Europe will be increased to 500 by 2026, from 200 at the end of 2024
