BMW has revealed the new X4 will be priced from £42,900 and is available to order from February 15.
The Sports Activity Coupe promises enhanced driving dynamics, standout exterior design with a strong coupé silhouette and even more refinement, along with state-of-the-art driver assistance systems and connectivity.
Two new M Performance models – the BMW X4 M40i and M40d – enhance the range.
The all-new model is longer, wider and lighter than its predecessor, with more interior space thanks to a longer wheelbase. It also has a lower centre of gravity and 50/50 weight distribution – giving a more dynamic driving feel.
All models feature premium equipment such as LED adaptive headlights and leather upholstery.
Customers can choose from Sport, M Sport or M Sport X models and a single petrol or three diesel engines.
The most efficient is the X4 xDrive20d, powered by a 190PS diesel engine. It accelerates to 62MPH in eight seconds and returns an average consumption of 52.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 142g/km.
Three full-size seats are fitted in the rear compartment of the X4, providing passengers with an additional 27 millimetres of legroom over the previous model. The boot has a capacity of 525 litres and the load space can be expanded to a maximum of 1,430 litres by folding down the sections of the rear backrest, with its standard 40:20:40 split.
BMW has fitted the latest version of its iDrive connected infotainment system and the new X4 is available with the Driving Assistant Plus package which offers semi-autonomous capability.
