Alfa Romeo will launch a small SUV based on the Tonale Concept showcased at this year’s Geneva Motor Show.
The concept feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain and is said to be almost production ready.
It is expected to deliver the best driving dynamics in the segment, with the hybrid powertrain being used to enhance the experience rather than just reduce emissions.
A combustion engine will power the front wheels and an electric motor will provide drive to the rear.
The Tonale concept vehicle is equipped with a 12.3-inch fully-digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
There is no indication of when the vehicle is expected to go on sale, but Alfa Romeo’s product plan suggests a compact SUV will be available by 2022.

AR really should launch the Tonale a.s.a.p, as in 2020, and be competitively priced with a respectable service and or maintenance plan and warranty. You would think AR are selling millions of vehicles with there slow take-up of new models, the Giulia and Stelvio being the only 2 models in the lineup with lower than expected sales in concentrated markets , the Giulietta has passed its sell-by due date, though still a beautiful design but requires a new look, and the 4C, being a true drivers car with end of production just around the corner. FCA AR best get onto the EV bandwagon fast or else they will be left further in the dark. From a concerned Alfisti driving a 1750 QV Giulietta and loving it since 2012y
