Dacia has added a new entry-level TCe 100 petrol engine to its Duster SUV range, offering 18% lower CO2 than its predecessor.

The new engine, which replaces the SCe 115, produces 126g/km of CO2 and WLTP fuel economy of 48.7-49.5mpg.

Producing 100PS, the three-cylinder petrol engine is paired with a five-speed gearbox, and features a turbocharger with an electrically controlled waste gate, an exhaust manifold partially integrated into the cylinder head, twin variable valve timing for intake and bore spray coating.

It is available with front-wheel drive on the Access, Essential and Comfort trim, with P11D prices from £10,770.

Its emissions put it in the 28% benefit-in-kind tax band which means the new model is available to company car drivers with monthly BIK bills of £50 (20% taxpayer).

The Fleet News Company Car Tax calculator shows the total running cost for the Access trim level is 25.12 pence per mile over a four-year/80,000-mile lifecycle, or a total running cost of £20,096.

Its residual value is £3,675 (34%).

Duster continues to be available with TCe 130 and 150 petrol engines, as well as the Blue dCi diesel engine.
