BMW is now taking orders for the 4 Series Gran Coupe, which will arrive in the UK in November priced from £40,465.
The four-door shares a platform with the 4 Series Coupe and new electric i4, offering drivers a more dynamic driving experience than a 3 Series.
It will arrive with a line-up of petrol and diesel engines, a standard-fit eight-speed automatic gearbox and the option of rear- or all-wheel-drive.
The entry-level 420i serves up 184PS and emits from 150g/km of CO2. It’s joined by a more potent 430i, with 245PS and emissions from 156g/km.
A 420d model, with mild-hybrid technology, offers 190PS and emissions from 126g/km. The 420d is available with xDrive all-wheel-drive.
At the top of the range, a six-cylinder M440i provides 374PS and CO2 of 181g/km.
Only M Sport trim is offered, which comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension and sports seats with leather upholstery.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new 4 Series Gran Coupe has an addition 39 litres of luggage space, totalling 470 litres.
BMW says the car offers agile handling and achieves 50:50 weight distribution, leading to improved handling characteristics over the 3 Series.
Adaptive suspension can be specified as part of the optional M Sport Pro pack, further enhancing driveability.
