Ford has revealed an updated version of the Fiesta, which is due to arrive in early 2022, priced from £16,620.
The facelifted model introduces new safety and technology features, plus a revised look.
At the front, a new bumper and sleeker LED headlights surround the Fiesta’s new grille design.
On the inside, the Fiesta is now available with a digital instrument cluster in an otherwise familiar cabin.
One of the key new features is Wrong Way Alert, a new safety system that can alert the driver if they pass a no entry sign, such as when joining a carriageway in the wrong direction.
Following updates last year, the Fiesta’s powertrain line-up remains. Two mild-hybrid units offering 125PS and 155PS are carried over, offering up to 48mpg and CO2 emissions from 111g/km.
A seven-speed automatic gearbox can be specified in conjunction with the 125PS engine.
There is also a non-hybrid entry-level 1.0-litre 100PS petrol engine that emits from 118g/km and returns 45.2mpg.
The 200PS Fiesta ST remains available too, using a 1.5-litre petrol engine that emits from 139g/km of CO2.
Ford will continue to offer the Fiesta in its core trim levels of Trend, Titanium, ST Line and Active. The range-topping Vignale has been dropped, instead the Fiesta is available with new Vignale packs for the Titanium, ST Line and Active which introduce more luxurious trims and additional features.
“Moving with the times to set new standards for fun-to-drive, technology and efficiency has been a huge part of Fiesta’s enduring success,” said Roelant de Waard, general manager of Passenger Vehicles at Ford of Europe. “The new Fiesta is another big leap forward for the small car segment, and offers a model to suit every lifestyle.”
The new Fiesta can be ordered now, with deliveries expected in Q1 2022.
