Citroen has confirmed that it will build another 1,000 My Ami Buggy models, due to high levels of demand.
Initially limited to just 50 examples, the My Ami Buggy sold out in 18 minutes.
Order books for the new model will open in the spring.
Citroen said the car will come with a "few surprise features" over the current My Ami Buggy,
The My Ami Buggy includes enhancements to the front and rear bumpers, and added trim around the lights, while the wider wheel arches and rear spoiler give it a more muscular appearance. Black-tinted protective elements reinforce the sense of robustness and contrast with the Khaki colour scheme. In addition to the Khaki colour, yellow accents enliven the bodywork, while the 14-inch perforated gold wheels contrast with the bodywork colour.
In addition to the visual clues on the exterior, My Ami Buggy also features hinged metal tubing to replace the doors and a removable soft-top. The roof fabric is detachable via snap fasteners, and can be rolled up and stored securely behind the seats.
The yellow exterior touches are mirrored on-board, highlighting accessories such as the dashboard storage bins, bag hook and door opening straps. The seats are covered in black material enhanced with yellow stitching, while the floor mats also feature yellow detailing on the seams.
The Ami has sold more than 30,000 units in nine countries, since 2020. It is powered by a 5.5kWh battery that recharges in four hours and offers a range of up to 46 miles (WMTC) with a top speed of 28mph.
Alongside My Ami Buggy versions, Ami is available in a choice of variants, My Ami Colour, My Ami Pop and My Ami Tonic. The commercial My Ami Cargo is designed for urban last-mile deliveries, with a payload of up to 140Kg, a maximum load capacity of 400-litres and a tight 7.20m turning circle.
My Ami Buggy will be available to customers on a first-come, first-served basis with sales expected to open in spring 2023, and deliveries beginning in the summer.
