Renault's new Austral SUV has been given class-best residual values by Cap HPI, following its market launch in June.
The Kadjar replacement will retain 50.1% of its original retail value after three years and 60,000 miles, according to Cap HPI.
In its April 2023 report, Cap HPI said: “The new Renault Austral is a huge leap in terms of design and technology compared to the ageing Kadjar predecessor. The exterior design has a muscular design due to high bonnet positioning and a wide stance. The interior design is in line with all the latest technologies and overall has a premium look due to excellent materials with good fit and finish throughout. Interior room is up there with the best in class as is the ride and handling.”
This result is the culmination of Renault working closely with Cap HPI to ensure that the all new Austral launched with a high standard specification. The car is equipped with a Google-powered digital experience, hybrid powertrain and extensive standard equipment that includes up to 30 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Renault is urging fleets and their drivers to re-engage with the brand as its model line-up shows a step-up in technology and quality, giving its product a more premium feel.
The residual values also complement the Austral's low benefit-in-kind rate of 26%, as a result of its 105g/km CO2 emissions.
Peter Horton, head of fleet, Renault UK, said: “With its unrivalled residual values having a very positive effect on leasing rates, the all new Austral E-Tech full hybrid is even more appealing to fleet buyers. Already offering the safety, usability and supreme connectivity that are so important to business drivers, the confirmed RVs now complete its package. Taking these into account, it means that many companies can transition to a highly-equipped, cutting-edge electrified vehicle in an exceptionally cost-effective way.”
