Lexus is now accepting orders for the LBX compact SUV, its smallest new car to date.
The LBX is based on the same platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross and is offered with a petrol hybrid powertrain.
Prices for the new 'baby' Lexus start at £29,995.
The LBX Urban comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with automatic high beam, Lexus Link Connect multimedia system with 9.8-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, smartphone integration, front and rear parking sensors and rear-view camera.
The LBX Premium introduces heated front seats, Tahara upholstery, rear privacy glass, wireless smartphone charger, Pre-Collision System with Driver Monitor, Rear Side Monitor, Blind Spot Monitor and Safe Exit Assist, automatic windscreen wipers, ambient cabin lighting and auto-dimming rear-view mirror.
The LBX Premium Plus adds 18-inch wheels, power tailgate, 12.3-inch digital driver’s instrument display, head-up display, smart entry (front and rear) and nanoe-X air purification system.
The Premium Plus Design model features bi-tone paintwork and perforated Tahara synthetic leather upholstery with red stitching.
Takumi grade comes with a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system, leather upholstery, power driver’s seat adjustment with memory, multi-colour interior ambient lighting, Intelligent Park Assist, an Advanced Safety Pack and LED headlights with Adaptive High-beam System.
The Takumi Design specification adds bi-tone paintwork and combination Ultrasuede and leather upholstery.
The LBX Original Edition, the pinnacle of the LBX range at launch, is offered in a unique Sonic Copper bi-tone finish, with matt black 18-inch wheels, bumper inserts, rear pillar decals and dedicated badging.
All LBX models benefit from the advanced safety and driver assistance systems of the third generation of Lexus Safety System+.
Lexus says the LBX is a "landmark model" that will break down the traditional luxury hierarchy and will be a "game-changer" for the brand in Europe.
Like the Yaris Cross, the LBX uses a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol hybrid engine. It develops 136PS and powers the front wheels. An all-wheel-drive variant is also available.
Front-wheel-drive models emit 105-109g/km of CO2, depending on trim, and promise upwards of 60mpg. The all-wheel-drive emits 115g/km, with fuel consumption of 57 - 62mpg.
The car features a high-quality interior with a fully digital instument cluster and a 9.8-inch central touchscreen.
First deliveries of the Lexus LBX will commence in March 2024.
