The new Toyota C-HR Hybrid will be priced from £31,290, when it goes on sale in January.
A plug-in hybrid version of the new compact SUV will join the line up later in 2024. Prices for that model are yet to be confirmed.
The initial line-up for the C-HR features 1.8 and 2.0-litre versions of Toyota's fifth-generation hybrid system. CO2 emissions start at 105g/km for the 1.8, which develops 140PS. The 2.0 has 197PS and emits from 110g/km of CO2.
The car has a sleeker design, with flush-fit door handles and an optional bi-tone paint finish.
The new Toyota C-HR range comprises four grades – Icon, Design, Excel and GR Sport and, for a limited time, Premiere Edition.
Icon features 17-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, an eight-inch central infotainment touchscreen, electric folding door mirrors and a power-operated tailgate
The safety and assistance package includes the latest, third generation Toyota Safety Sense with functions including Pre-Crash System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist and Automatic High Beam. In addition, there is a Blind Spot Monitor which links to Safe Exit Assist to help prevent doors being opened into the path of vehicles approaching from the rear.
Design adds 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, rear privacy glass and parking sensors with automatic brake function. The infotainment screen grows to 12.3 inches and there is also a fully digital instrument cluster.
Stepping up to Excel sees 19-inch alloys, bi-tone exterior paintwork, front sports seats with suede-effect upholstery, ambient interior lighting and a panoramic roof. There is also 360-degree camera system, Lane Change Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive High-beam System headlights.
The GR Sport features exterior and interior styling flourishes and details inspired by Toyota Gazoo Racing. Based on the Design specification, it adds 20-inch GR Sport alloys, head-up display and JBL audio. A Premium Pack option includes panoramic roof, digital key, digital key, digital rear-view mirror, cornering lights, head-up display and Adaptive High-beam System.
There is also the choice of a Safety Pack with driver monitor camera, Adaptive High-beam System with automatic levelling, cornering lights, digital rear-view mirror, Lane Change Assist, Panoramic View Monitor and Front Cross Traffic Alert.
The exclusive Premiere Edition boasts the complete specification – all the standard and optional Excel features plus leather seat upholstery and a bi-tone exterior in an exclusive combination of Sulfur metallic with Astral Black roof and rear quarters.
