Maserati has opened the order books for its first electric car, the GranTurismo Folgore.
It marks the first step in the brand's strategy to have a fully electric line-up by 2030.
The GranTurismo Folgore is an electric version of the existing GranTurismo, so its styling and interior are identical.
Powering the two-door coupe is a trio of electric motors that provide a combined power output of 760PS. Acceleration from 0-62mph is possible in 2.7 seconds, making the Folgore the fastest version of the GranTurismo.
A 92.5kWh battery is integrated into the car's floor, without impacting passenger space or ride height. It gives the car a range (WLTP) of 280 miles.
Charging speeds of up to 270kW are possible, as a result of the car's 800v electrical architecture. As a result, up to 62 miles of range car be added in just five minutes, using a suitable DC charger. The car also supports up to 22kW AC charging.
Pricing for the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore starts at £179,950, making it about £30,000 more expensive than a Porsche Taycan Turbo S. As a fully electric vehicle, the GranTurismo Folgore attracts a 2% benefit-in-kind tax.
