MG has pulled the wraps off its new HS mid-size SUV, which available to order now.
Longer and wider than before, the HS has a more sophisticated appearance and promises a roomier interior.
Styling cues from the MG3 are carried over, giving the HS slimmer and more distinctive headlights.
The HS is available with an updated plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain that attracts a 5% benefit-in-kind tax rate.
The HS PHEV uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine and electric motor, paired with a 24.7kWh battery. It has a range of 75 miles.
There is also a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine available.
Pricing starts at £24,995, for the HS 1.5T SE. The PHEV costs from £31,495.
Two trim levels - SE and Trophy - are offered. The base specification includes automatic full LED headlights with follow-me-home function, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, six-way adjustable electric driver’s seat and four-way adjustable front passenger seat, air conditioning, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, cruise control, electric parking brake with auto-hold function, and dual 12.3-inch displays with navigation and smartphone mirroring.
Trophy models feature 19-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, front fog lights, electrically folding door mirrors with memory, driver’s seat lumbar adjustment, power tailgate, 360-degree surround view camera, eight-speaker audio system, iSmart with live services, wireless smartphone charging, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality on PHEV models.
All models in the range benefit from an MG Pilot with Active Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Bicycle Detection, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist, Driver Attention Alert, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Door Open Warning as standard.
