Rob Morris has been named as head of sales at Polestar, replacing Steve Beattie who has moved to BYD.

Beattie (pictured right) now holds the newly created role as sales and marketing director for BYD in the UK. He’ll be responsible for retail and fleet sales, as well as all marketing including retailer marketing. He reports directly into BYD's country manager, Bono Ge.

Morris (pictured left) was formerly head of direct sales at Volvo, a role he left in May this year. Prior to this he had an eight-year stint at Mercedes-Benz.

Beattie replaced Matt Hawkins as head of sales in the UK for Polestar after returning to Vauxhall at the start of the year.

He was appointed sales and operations director at Vauxhall in February, after a stint with Chinese brand Nio as head of European fleet and sales operations.

He was Vauxhall's national contract hire and leasing manager when he left the British brand after 12 years to join Volvo Car UK's senior team in 2017.
