National Lorry Week is showcasing the vital role the trucks, drivers and the industry plays in the nation’s social and economic wellbeing from today (Monday, November 4).
The theme for this year’s campaign, organised by the Road Haulage Association (RHA), is skills and careers.
The RHA will be on the road with its branded National Lorry Week truck until Friday (November 8) taking in venues across the four nations, including members’ sites, sponsors’ premises, and colleges.
The RHA is also taking out its driving simulator to show would-be-drivers what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an HGV.
Richard Smith, RHA’s managing director, said: “We’re very proud to hold our tenth National Lorry Week campaign where we’ll once again celebrate our industry and its people, and the critical role they play in driving the economy.
“We are highlighting the wealth of rewarding career paths open to young people and others looking for fresh challenges – and we'll be driving the message that our industry is an aspirational career choice.
“The influence our sector has on the economy is significant, so I'd urge everyone to get involved and get behind the National Lorry Week campaign as we showcase the crucial role our industry plays in society.”
The RHA has released a downloadable campaign pack to help people support the campaign.
