Masternaut has formed a strategic partnership with transport industry trading platform, Same Day Courier Network (SDCN), to ensure couriers and haulage operators can improve fleet efficiency through telematics.
SDCN is a trading platform for courier and haulage operations, encompassing owner drivers, multi-vehicle haulage companies, freight forwarders and primary suppliers. Its members place work onto the network for other members to make an offer by providing contact details, collection and delivery information, type of vehicle required, expiry time and more. Members can then use this system for all of the job administration, and upon a job’s completion the delivery information can be put on the network for the company that sold the job.
Masternaut’s telematics technology will now make this process even simpler, helping users see where their vehicles are, if they reached the customer in time, if vehicles are being utilised effectively, which driver is closest to the next job, and if vehicles are being driven safely.
SDCN has a single network for all vehicle sizes, has simple navigation, has fewer out of date jobs, uses UK-based companies, and more. Combined with Masternaut, these user benefits will be broader, including improved driver behaviour, cost reduction from managing fuel expenditure, and improved safety through accident reduction.
Alex Rothwell, chief technology officer at Masternaut said, “Both Same Day Courier Network and Masternaut aim to make business easier for our respective customers, so the choice to partner was a simple one. Same Day Courier Network is an impressive business that’s growing quickly. The company itself began in February 2015, and now has in excess of 1200 members and access to more than 6500 vehicles. We look forward to seeing how it develops in future, and helping it achieve its business goals through our telematics technology.”
Richard Mole, SDCN, said: “We always strive to be the better option for our customers, offering realistic costs, reducing end user costs by having couriers and hauliers on the same site, having verified insurance, being a UK-based operation, giving a choice of companies to work with, and of course by having integrity. By partnering with Masternaut, our service can only become better, and we look forward to bringing our customers greater efficiency through telematics.”
