National Car Parks (NCP) has appointed Alphabet as its new fleet funding and management provider as it begins to electrify its fleet.
The company, which operates some 200,000 parking spaces across 520 sites, has a fleet of 105 cars and 107 vans.
It has migrated its choice list to offer only fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles and aims to remove all diesel vehicles over the coming years, in line with its current replacement cycles.
NCP also expects to save a significant amount of administration time as a result of its new partnership with Alphabet.
One of the biggest challenges faced by NCP with its previous fleet provider was invoice management and processing. Prior to Alphabet, NCP’s provider used up to five different funders, meaning NCP was often tasked with gathering invoices from five different places at once.
Alphabet is now helping to pull this together under ‘one roof’, providing NCP with just one point of contact for all its fleet services. This has meant a reduction in time spent on administration of around 77%.
Antony Wooller, fleet coordinator at NCP, said: “Partnering with Alphabet has already paid dividends for NCP, saving the business considerable time in unnecessary admin, and the costs that go alongside that.
“Our drivers are thrilled with the new options available to them on our updated choice list and particularly the tax reductions they’re now able to enjoy by lowering their emissions. Looking ahead to the next couple years, we’re excited to work with Alphabet to migrate to a fully electrified fleet across the whole NCP business as current vehicle contracts expire.”
Alphabet is providing NCP with full Contract Hire and Maintenance across its fleet, including Accident Management and AlphaRent services.
Savings have been achieved by introducing NCP to a Whole Life Cost (WLC) model to take advantage of the reduction in tax contribution when choosing EVs and PHEVs.
