Nissan has given the Juke a refreshed interior and a new infotainment system as part of a mid-life facelift of the popular compact SUV.

The Juke now boasts a 12.3-inch central touchscreen and a customisable high-resolution digital instrument cluster display.

Nissan says the upgraded infotainment system comes with a more intuitive home screen which allows the user to add “widgets” for the functions they use the most frequently, much like they would with the home screen of their smart phone.

An improved voice recognition system sees the introduction of “natural language understanding” capability, enabling it to understand a wider range of phrases and expressions. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also now available.

Along with improvements in material quality, Nissan has also added a wireless phone charging pad, additional USB ports and an enlarged glovebox to the new Juke.

The new Juke is equipped with two powertrain options, which are carried over from the existing model. The Juke Hybrid is the most efficient, with CO2 emissions from 109g/km. It develops 143PS and Nissan says it consumes 20% less fuel than the regular petrol engine.

The Juke's non-electrified 1.0-litre three-cylinder DIG-T turbocharged petrol engine produces 114PS and emits upwards of 133g/km of CO2.

To complement the facelift, Nissan has added a new N-Sport trim grade to the line-up and revised the selection of wheel and colour options available.

Production of the new Nissan Juke has already started, but prices for the new model are yet to be confirmed.
