Paua has agreed a partnership with Smart Charge, the electric vehicle (EV) charging network operated by Sainsbury’s.
The deal will give Paua users access to Smart Charge’s ultra-rapid chargers at 69 locations across the country.
The addition of Smart Charge adds more than 550 renewable-powered ultra-rapid chargers to Paua’s network of more than 58,000 charge points at more than 18,500 locations nationwide.
Niall Riddell, CEO of Paua, said: “Smart Charge’s focus on providing accessible, high-power, renewable-powered chargers aligns perfectly with Paua’s mission to simplify the switch to electric for businesses and fleets.
“Partnering with a trusted household name like Sainsbury’s helps us offer even greater convenience to our users and makes it easier than ever for businesses to embrace sustainable transport.”
Smart Charge launched at the start of 2024 and continues to expand across the UK.
Patrick Dunne, director of property, procurement and EV ventures at Sainsbury’s, said: “Smart Charge continues to go from strength to strength and we’re delighted to be starting 2025 with the news that Paua has chosen to collaborate with us – giving all of its customers direct access to our 24/7, convenient and reliable ultra-rapid charging hubs.
“This partnership represents another step forwards in our ambition to make EV charging simple and accessible to everyone.”
Paua’s technology is built ground up by their own in-house team and developed specifically for businesses with electric fleets.
