Lesley Upham has announced her tenure as commercial director for IAM RoadSmart will come to a close at the end of July.

During her two years in post at IAM RoadSmart and working with CEO Sarah Sillars and the leadership team, she has helped steer the UK’s largest independent road safety charity through a period of significant change.

The IAM RoadSmart team has introduced a new name, a new website and a new brand.

It has also successfully moved headquarters and is now based in in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire.

The charity has also undertaken a full commercial review of its fleet driver training product range and expanded its highly successful Drink-Drive Retraining Academy into new territories.

Upham said: “When I joined Sarah and the team at the IAM I knew we were approaching an exciting period of transformation.

"Two years on and I can honestly say I do not know where the time has gone.

"We have been through a tremendous transition and I am immensely proud of all that’s been achieved. It’s a great testament to the commitment of all my colleagues and of our members that we’ve taken such great leaps forward.

"I leave the organisation knowing that that the foundation is in place for even greater progress in the future.”

Recruitment for a new lead for IAM RoadSmart’s commercial activity is currently underway.

An announcement of the appointee will be made by the charity’s leadership team shortly.
