Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has appointed Pete Janes as the brand's first fleet aftersales manager and Katie Benson as its first fleet development manager.
Janes will take up the role of fleet aftersales manager to ensure an “absolute focus” on the full end-to-end fleet ownership experience. He joins from ARI Fleet UK as its supplier network development manager.
He said: “Aftersales is a crucial element of the fleet strategy so I look forward to taking on this new challenge, getting out and meeting customers and demonstrating the comprehensive fleet support package that Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles offers.”
Benson has also taken on a new role as fleet development manager. Having worked as Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ people development manager for the past two years, her main responsibility will now be to develop standalone fleet and business initiatives in order to drive increased sales of vehicles and services to the business community.
She said: “I look forward to continuing to develop our sales and service strategies so that we can deliver on our mission to be a trusted partner to our business customers.”
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ head of fleet David Hanna (pictured) said: “I’m thrilled to have Pete and Katie on board. With Katie continuing to push our development strategies and Pete able to focus solely on aftersales, we hope to deliver the same industry leading services to more fleet customers than ever before.”

I shall look forward to hearing from either or both Peter and Katie just as soon as VW CV show us the courtesy of recognising our bona fide fleet status again and help us to help them grow their sales figures. We are very good at what we do afterall.
