Fleet News understands that Audi head of fleet Tom Brennan has left the business with immediate effect.
Brennan has been with Audi for six years, having previously spent nine years at Volkswagen Financial Services. He was appointed to the top Audi UK fleet job in May 2017 after James Douglas was appointed head of sales at sister brand Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
At the time, head of Audi UK sales operations Peter Brookes described Brennan as “an integral member of the sales operations team, playing a key role in supporting the brand’s dominance in true fleet”.
While there is no confirmation about where Brennan is going, the suddenness of his departure suggests another senior manufacturer position awaits – with one vacancy in particular leaping out.
Mercedes-Benz is searching for a new head of fleet after Rob East left a couple of months. East is expected to join BMW shortly as head of corporate sales, although the manufacturer has yet to officially announce the appointment.
If Brennan is destined for Mercedes-Benz – purely speculation at this stage - it would complete a merry-go-round of appointments among the three German premium brands after BMW media relations manager Gavin Ward joined Audi last month as its new head of press and PR.
