Hexagon Leasing appoints new head of supply
Hexagon Leasing has announced the appointment of Paul Johnson as head of supply chain.
Johnson, who was formerly fleet manager at Go Plant Fleet Services, will support the business in managing the supply of new vehicles.
Alan Ellison, chief executive officer (CEO) at Hexagon Leasing, said: “We are delighted to welcome Paul to the team in this new role at Hexagon. He has extensive industry experience and will ensure the smooth management of the supply chain and help Hexagon achieve its ambitious future growth plans.”
His appointment follows that of Ellison as CEO in June this year as well as a new national account and business development manager, head of sales and head of national accounts.
Johnson will be based at Hexagon’s head office in Burton.
Volta Trucks appoints Karl Viktor Schaller to board of directors
Volta Trucks has appointed Dr Karl Viktor Schaller to its board of directors.
The company said his appointment will be confirmed at the company’s forthcoming annual general meeting (AGM).
Schaller has held executive and board positions within the automotive industry and most recently between 2014 and 2019, he was executive vice president, motorcycle engineering and BMW AG.
Before joining BMW AG, he was a member of the executive board and chief technology officer (CTO) of MAN Truck and Bus, with responsibility for engineering and purchasing, where he was responsible for product development, purchasing and planning.
Prior to this, Schaller was director of the heavy trucks business unit at MAN, after having headed various other departments.
In these other roles, he led the development of alternative drive systems, including batteries, hybrids, natural gas, hydrogen in internal combustion and fuel cell applications, as well as advanced driver assistance systems, and heavy trucks.

“His arrival coincides with significant, positive, engineering and manufacturing developments for the company, as we move into the production of the first full-electric Volta Zero prototype vehicles on our production line in Steyr, Austria. And within just a few months, Volta Trucks will start production of customer vehicles, transitioning from a start-up to a vehicle manufacturer.
“Karl Viktor brings a wealth of engineering and product development experience to the Board that will help us support the Executive team achieve its ambitious goals, and within industry-leading timescales.”
Element 2 announces new hires
Element 2 has announced the appointment of Mark Teevan and Holly Makin to its business development team. Both will report to Element 2’s chief development officer, Andrew Hagan.
Teevan is taking up a part time role and will be responsible for driving business development in Ireland.
Teevan previously held several senior management and board level positions at Toyota Ireland including director of strategy, innovation and corporate affairs, commercial director, and managing director of the Lexus business unit.
During his tenure at Toyota Ireland, Tevan led the formation of Hydrogen Mobility Ireland. He was the founding chair of the organisation in 2019.
Makin has also joined the company to lead business development in Wales, as well as support the business development team in the rest of the UK.
She was previously project manager at NewYorker where she managed marketing projects, and media executive at a London-based media agency.
Dr Andrew Hagan, chief development officer, Element 2, said: “Mark’s knowledge of the Irish market, strong expertise in the transport sector, and C-suite experience will be instrumental in delivering our growth plans for Ireland.
“Holly’s combined knowledge of sustainable development and business development skills will be a great asset to our team. These two appointments allow us to increase our footprint and reach whilst further strengthening our commitment to sustainability. I’m looking forward to working with her as we scale the Element 2 network in the UK.”
