RCM Saga has announced the acquisition of Motus Truck and Van, the Mercedes-Benz Truck and Van division of Motus Group (UK).
The French dealership group entered the UK market with the acquisition of Sparshatt Truck and Van in Kent, last year.
This latest acquisition is in line with its strategic growth ambitions, with Saga becoming one of the largest partners of Mercedes-Benz Vans, Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Fuso.
The acquisition was shared with Motus Truck and Van employees during a speech by Philippe Canetti, European director of Saga Trucks. He said: “We are building on an already solid foundation with the incredible Motus Truck and Van teams.
“Together, we can meet the challenges of changing customer demands, while thriving in a competitive landscape.
“The future of the industry is changing, and our vision is to guide our customers through the transition to sustainable technologies. This is a time of great responsibility, but also of major opportunity.”
Heiko Selzam, managing director of Daimler Truck UK, added: “Saga's long-standing heritage with Mercedez-Benz and its strong operational success across Europe is a perfect partnership to take this next step with Mercedes-Benz Truck and Fuso.
“Their values reflect our own, and we are confident that as one of the largest dealership partners in the UK, they will set the benchmark for service and innovation in the commercial vehicle sector. We look forward to working closely with the extended team.”
Kevin Ferris, head of network operations at Mercedes-Benz Vans, highlighted the growth opportunity. “This acquisition marks an exciting chapter for Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK,” he said.
“The move not only strengthens our network but also enhances our ability to deliver outstanding service and support to our customers across the South-East of England.
"Saga Truck and Van has long been a valued partner within our family, consistently demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers.
“By expanding their operations, Saga Truck and Van is well-positioned to strengthen our presence and enhance support for Mercedes-Benz Vans customers across these key regions.
“We look forward to seeing the positive impact this move will bring to our network and the customers we serve."
Rob Truscott, CEO of Motus Group (UK), says he is confident that the legacy of Motus Truck and Van will continue to thrive.
“This is an exciting moment for all involved, and we look forward to seeing the opportunities this venture will bring for customers, employees, and the industry alike," he added.
