Renault has given the Captur a thorough visual overhaul and updated its infotainment system as part of a facelift for the popular compact SUV.

Prices for the new model start at £21,095. Frist deliveries are due to commence in Q3.

The refreshed Captur takes styling inspiration from the Renault Scenic E-Tech, with a new, sharper front end.

Inside, it retains a familiar dashboard but integrates the brand's latest Google-based infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

Two powertrains are offered, both carried over from the existing Captur. There's a 1.0-litre petrol with 90PS and a hybrid with 145PS.

The entry-level petrol (TCe 90) is paired with a six speed manual gearbox and has CO2 emissions of 131g/km.

Greater efficiency is achieved by the E-Tech hybrid, which combines a 1.6-litre petrol engine and electric motor with a small battery. It achieves up to 60mpg, with CO2 emissions of 105g/km.

Three versions make up the new Renault Captur range, starting with the Evolution trim. Its standard specification includes 17-inch alloy wheels, dark tinted rear windows, full LED automatic headlights with automatic high/low beam, automatic windscreen wipers, rear parking sensors, and a rear view camera.

The interior features a 10.4-inch OpenR Link touchscreen with wireless smartphone connectivity, plus a wireless smartphone charger. There is also automatic air conditioning electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, hands-free keycard, and synthetic leather steering wheel.

Advanced driver assistance systems include cruise control and speed limiter, traffic sign recognition with overspeed prevention, active emergency braking system, driver attention alert, distance warning alert, front and rear detection with emergency lane keep assist including solid line, oncoming traffic and road edge detection, my Safety Shield, and hill start assist.

The Techno trim gains 18-inch alloy wheels, longitudinal roof bars, front and side parking sensors, electrically folding door mirrors, auto-dimming rear view mirror with light and rain sensor, modular boot floor, height-adjustable front passenger seat, MULTI-SENSE driving modes, 10.4-inch OpenR Link touchscreen with Google services built-in, 10.25-inch digital driver display, and two additional rear USB-C ports.

Crowning the range, the Esprit Alpine is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, two-tone paint with contrasting black roof colour, front grille with 3D graphics, and gloss black window frames. The interior features esprit Alpine styling, aluminium sports pedals, auto-dimming frameless rear view mirror, driver and front passenger seat with electric height adjustment, heated front seats, heated synthetic leather steering wheel and adaptive cruise control with speed limiter.
