Smart has confirmed the pricing and specification for the #3, the second model in its all-new range.
The Smart #3 is a four-door coupe that Smart has given a 'compact SUV' billing.
It is offered with a choice of two battery sizes and two power outputs. A range of up to 283 miles (WLTP) is possible.
The car's front-end styling and interior are shared with the existing Smart #1 model, while the rear end and roofline are sleeker.
Smart says the #3 boasts improved aerodynamics and performance, when compared to the #1. A firmer suspension set-up promotes a sportier feel with less body roll. A lower seating position is said to further enhance the dynamic experience.
An entry-level Pro variant is available for £32,950. It uses a 49kWh battery, giving a range of 202 miles (WLTP). A single electric motor powers the rear wheels, delivering a potent 272PS and 343Nm.
Above Pro sits Pro+ and Premium, which both utilise a larger 66kWh battery. These can travel 270 and 283 miles, respectively, using the same 272PS motor. Pricing starts at £36,950 for the Pro+ and £39,950 for the Premium.
A range-topping Brabus version, starting from £45,450, uses two electric motors in conjunction with the 66kWh battery to deploy 428PS.
All versions of the Smart #3 are equipped with a 12.8-inch central touchscreen and a separate digital instrument cluster. There's also Smart pilot assist, which includes Adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, lane keeping assist,
blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition, highway assist with lane change assist and traffic jam assist, parking assistant sensors and 360-degree camera. Premium and Brabus versions also get a head-up display.
The Smart #3 will go on sale in early 2024.
