Breezemount

TOM Vehicle Rental is to supply 47 ultra-high payload Vauxhall Movano MaxiQube panel vans to Breezemount UK.

The two man home delivery service provider will take delivery of the vehicles, designed by MaxiLow, offer an impressive payload benefit over a regular 3.5t panel van with internal load length of 4200mm and internal load height of 1951mm.

The lightweight, aerodynamic and environmentally-friendly body designed and manufactured by Maxi-Low will give Breezemount improved fuel economy as well as the ability to deliver their current volumes, more than 1 million home deliveries each year, with reduced road miles as a result of the increased volume and payload capacity offered by the new vehicle versus the regular 3.5t panel vans being used previously.

Graham Brooks, head of fleet for Breezemount UK said: “We are always looking at creative solutions within the industry to help manage and reduce our operating and whole life costs.  The new MaxiQube vehicles constructed from lightweight materials offer greater volume and payload than our previous 3.5 ton van fleet and these efficiencies support Breezemount UK’s strategy to lower CO2 emissions and reduce our carbon footprint.

"TOM were commercially aware and worked consultatively with us from the outset to make sure the specification of the vehicles met all of our specific needs.”

Additional features including lightweight rear container-style barn doors, LED rear lights and reversing camera with integrated rear light to reduce collision and damage incidents and recessed D –load rings for securing loads as well as a mix of single and dual passenger seats to suit different operations.

The contract hire offering from TOM includes repairs, servicing, maintenance, road fund licence, worn tyre replacement and replacement vehicles in cases of downtime.

Additional specification aimed at reducing damage and collisions and improving driver safety introduced by Breezemount runs parallel with the current fleet initiative, with video event recorders supplied by Lytx through the DriveCam Programme. Breezemount will use this to coach driver behaviour and continually develop and improve driver standards by encouraging safer, professional driving in what is a challenging time for driver resource generally.

James Rafferty, sales and marketing director for TOM Vehicle Rental added: “We’re delighted to have entered into working partnership with Breezemount to put the UK’s first Movano MaxiQube vans into service for them across the country.

"We are committed to continual innovation within the commercial vehicle hire sector. The new MaxiQube van will mean companies can deliver more goods from a single vehicle, removing the need for multiple delivery runs or extra vehicles and all the additional costs that go along with these.”

The van will be on display with TOM Vehicle Rental at this month's CV Show in Birmingham.
