Truck trips can now be planned on the TomTom MyDrive website and app.

The launch means that professional drivers can now save on driving time by planning a route before leaving. Truck-specific journeys can be customised with preferred roads or stops, and synced to a TomTom TRUCKER navigation device.

Corinne Vigreux, co-founder and managing director, TomTom Consumer, said: “The innovative combination of truck-specific routing, with highly accurate TomTom Traffic information, is designed to help save time and increase efficiency. Drivers will know the best time to depart, so when they get in their vehicle, they’re ready to go.”

MyDrive allows professional drivers to conveniently plan a multi-stop route for their truck's specific size, weight, cargo and speed. Favourite fuel and rest stops, as well as community Points of Interest can be added, and relevant, personalised customisations can be added. On the route, speed camera alerts and real-time traffic are shown, helping the driver to complete deliveries on time.

TomTom MyDrive truck trip planning is available on the MyDrive website at mydrive.tomtom.com. Supported models include the TomTom Trucker 5000 and 6000.  The TomTom MyDrive app is available on iOS and Android devices on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
