Halfords Group has renewed its fleet of 50 trucks with Volvo for an undisclosed sum.
The UK cycle, car and camping retailer, will renew its entire fleet Volvo FH 6x2 tractor units. The vehicles will operate across the UK and will be supplied by Hartshorne Group. The dealer group will be providing Halfords with Volvo's “100% guaranteed uptime support” package for 36 months.
The new Volvo fleet is equipped with Euro-6, D13K engines producing 500hp and I-Shift automated manual transmissions systems.
Volvo’s Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking System are fitted as standard and Halfords has also included optional Lane Keeping Support and Nearside Proximity Sensors.
Halfords also opted for Volvo’s Dynafleet telematics package to help improve fuel efficiency and increase operating efficiencies.
Tracey Barley-Wild, Halfords head of logistics, said the decision to renew was driven by the company’s experience working with Volvo and Hartshorne over the last three years.
