Eden Farm Hulleys has taken delivery of two bespoke double-deck lifting-deck trailers, resulting in a reduced carbon footprint. 

The trailers, which are specially designed for transporting frozen and chilled food, were built by Gray & Adams.

The new vehicles can accommodate 44 pallets in comparison to the previous single deck trailers, that could only carry 26.

This means Eden Farm can complete deliveries with fewer vehicles and in less journeys, thus reducing its carbon footprint.

Eden Farm Hulleys’ group transport manager Jason Brooksbank said: “We are delighted with the two new trailers, which are the latest version of the 44-pallet lifting deck - one of the best currently on the market - and built to our specification.”

“These trailers offer many cost and time saving benefits to the company. Most notably they have reduced the amount of fuel we use, which in turn helps to reduce our carbon footprint.”

The new trailers are predominantly based at the company’s headquarters in Peterlee, Co. Durham and its Sheffield depot, and have been used within the company's trunking network to fulfil deliveries for key customers, including Holland & Barrett, Batleys Bestway and National Trust.
