GAP Vehicle Hire has opened its first depot in Glasgow. Vehicle hire is a new venture for the plant hire firm, GAP.

Located in Glasgow’s South Street, the new vehicle depot will have its own workshop, which GAP said offers customers a range of customisable options including the supply and fitting of wooden ply lining, shelving, tow bars, beacons, vehicle livery and more. The depot also hosts a valeting service.

GAP Vehicle Hire operations director, Jim Forrester said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to have opened our first hire operations depot in Glasgow. We chose the location as it’s close to the city centre and major motorways, meaning we can react fast to our customers’ demands. Glasgow is the first of our hire operations depots and we’ve already made plans for our next locations around the UK.’

GAP has seven other hire divisions which include: Plant & Tool, Lifting Hire & Sales, Non-Mechanical Plant, Survey & Safety Hire, Welfare Services, Event Services and the company’s newest division, London Tools & Access.

Forrester added: ‘We are proud to be part of the GAP family and have already started supplying vehicles to long-standing customers, as well as creating new relationships for the future. We have support from over 120 locations throughout the UK and we are working together with all divisions of GAP to provide a complete hire solution to customers.’

GAP Vehicle Hire was launched by GAP Hire Solutions in 2015, and focusses on offering long term vehicle hire to corporate customers throughout the UK.
