Cardiff City FC Foundation has acquired 13 Mercedes-Benz Citan vans for its football in the community projects.
Acquired with the help of a sponsorship contribution from dealer Euro Commercials, the vans are all Citan 109 CDI Long models.
Head of business development Ryan Jones said: “These smartly branded new vehicles can play an important role in helping us to achieve this goal, by raising our profile and providing credibility.
“The Citan is impressively well appointed, comfortable and easy to drive, as well as being perfectly sized to carry the balls and other equipment used by coaches to deliver our programmes.”
Powered by 90 hp engines, the Foundation’s new vans are the subject of a CharterWay contract hire agreement from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services and will be maintained in the supplying dealer’s workshop on Ipswich Road, Cardiff.
Jones continued: “We are grateful for Euro Commercials’ generous involvement in providing our delivery staff with an essential means of transport. 2015/16 is set to be a very busy year for all of us, with the Foundation set to have a positive impact on more people than ever before.”
Paul Cox, van sales manager at Euro Commercials, said: “The Foundation has a proven track record of making communities healthier, more prosperous and better educated. It is an admirable enterprise of which the people of Cardiff can be proud, and well worthy of our support.”
