The Freight Transport Association (FTA) has added an extra date for its Van Excellence Operational Briefings in Bristol.
The extra event is to be held on Tuesday, June 7 at the Ashton Gate Stadium.
The briefings provide companies with a unique opportunity to explore operational best practice across a range of key areas within van operation and examine the ramifications - often serious and sometimes catastrophic - of something going wrong, looking at the strategies and processes operators could and should be putting in place to measure, manage and reduce the risk and impact of shortfalls.
The event takes a closer look at the way drivers’ actions can impact on how a fleet operation works, and reflects on how planning and consideration can improve the way they work and the image of the van driver in the UK.
Alison Moriarty CMILT, fleet risk and compliance manager at Skanska, who attended one of the previous sessions, said: “The Van Excellence Briefings we attended were excellent! They demonstrated the need to manage risk in van operations but also provided practical guidance on strategies to adopt. An absolute must for anyone involved in operating vans, including senior managers and directors who must understand the repercussions of getting it wrong.”
Mark Cartwright, FTA’s head of vans and LCVs, said: “We are delighted to be able to bring the popular Van Excellence Operational Briefings to Bristol, for the benefit of operators in the area. The Ashton Gate Stadium is a premier venue, and being in a prime locationallows easy access for anyone based in the South West.”
The Van Excellence Operational Briefings 2016 are supported by Van Excellence Gold Partners ARI, ATS Euromaster, Bott Ltd, Hertz Van Rental, Lex Autolease and TomTom Telematics.
Places are available to all van operators whether existing Van Excellence members or those keen to know where to begin.
The cost is £50 plus VAT per delegate, or 10 places for £200, and one free place is available to the Van Excellence Governance Group, Van Excellence accredited operators and Guide to Van Excellence subscribers.
