Mountjoy, provider of construction, refurbishment and building maintenance services, has added Ctrack telematics and tracking to its fleet.
The company has adopted Ctrack Online to monitor a fleet of almost 140 vans, used by its team of tradesmen, to better manage resources and ensure that the vehicles are being driven responsibly.
Mountjoy provides flexible and tailored solutions for the housing, local government, education, health, industrial and commercial sectors. This includes maintaining a wide range of public and private sector buildings, along with more than 10,000 residential homes, from five locations in in Portsmouth, Newport (Isle of Wight), Southampton, Bristol and London.
The company was already using a vehicle tracking tool, but chose to adopt Ctrack Online across a newly-procured fleet of vans based on added usability and functionality of the system. In particular, the bespoke reporting package, including automated scheduling and distribution, will provide an effective means of sharing data with different areas of the business. This will help Mountjoy make best use of the available operational insight and business intelligence.
Mountjoy’s mobile team is made up of a range of different tradesmen. With this in mind, the tracking system has been set up to colour different trades, so that resource planners can easily identify the nearest and most appropriate vehicle for any reactive maintenance job. As a result, the company is looking to minimise customer response times, while reducing mileage to improve fleet efficiency.
Corporate responsibility and sustainability are integral to Mountjoy’s business strategy, so the company is also targeting high levels of health and safety, duty of care and carbon emissions reduction. It will use the Ctrack system to monitor driver behaviour to identify any excessive speeding or harsh driving. In particular, the company wants to ensure that vehicles are being driven safely in 20mph zones, especially around schools and in residential areas, so will use bespoke safety reports to help identify any areas of improvement.
Dan Carlin, financial director of Mountjoy said: “As a business, we believe that we have a vital contribution to make to the economy, to society and to the environment. Therefore, we have a commitment to adopt leading fleet technology solutions that are designed to improve road safety, achieve efficiencies, and reduce the business’ impact on the environment.”
John Wisdom, European managing director of Ctrack said: “Our web-based vehicle tracking solution provides added visibility and control over mobile assets. It is designed to be intuitive and simple-to-use, so companies such as Mountjoy can better manage their fleet operation and deliver real benefits by driving down costs, boosting productivity and improving customer service.”
