Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has extended its partnership with the UK’s largest flooring contractor, Designer Contracts, with the addition of 10 new Volkswagen vans.

The vehicles are a mix of LWB Crafter and Caddy panel vans and form part of the company’s fleet replacement programme. They will be used by members of its customer services team across the UK.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles not only offers the vehicles that meet our needs but also provides comprehensive aftersales support that helps us to ensure that our vehicles remain on the road and any vehicle downtime is kept to a minimum,” said Graham Kempton, logistics director at Designer Contracts.

Designer supplies and installs flooring nationally through its network of 12 regional centres across both private and public sectors. It also supplies curtain and blinds, furniture and lighting as well as offering design services.

The new vehicles will be used for delivering products to customers and therefore the load size was a key factor. The LWB Crafter’s 4.7-cubic metre load space offers Designer Contracts the ability to carry long lengths of flooring while still offering a comfortable driving experience.

The new vehicles have been supplied through Volkswagen’s Fleet Service Group directly from the JCT Van Centre in Sheffield. Designer Contracts continues to take advantage of the Van Centre network to support its fleet, enabling each region to maintain their vehicles locally and reduce costly downtime.
