Dawsongroup Vans has set up a team of advisers to assist customers and suppliers on their fleets route to net zero.
The group said the Team Target Zero provide a consultative service and advice on a fleet’s transition to net zero emissions, considering alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs), electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and driving EVs.
Steve Miller, chief executive officer at Dawsongroup, said: “Dawsongroup is currently making significant investments in green technologies across the whole of its various business units.
“Having a dedicated Team Target Zero will help our customers understand how the new technologies will benefit their businesses without committing to capital expense.”
Dawsongroup said in future, the team will provide best practice guides and specification sheets for different AFVs to help fleets prepare for a future without diesel vehicles.
Emma Naylor, project development manager and Team Target Zero leader, at Dawsongroup, said: “It’s up to us to play our part in achieving the country’s target of net zero by 2050.
“But we’re also aware that we contribute towards our customers’ net zero plan, so we want to expedite our achievement of that goal.”
Victoria Lloyd, regional head of sales and co-leader of team target zero, said: “As a group of companies who provide assets throughout the whole supply chain, it is high on Dawsongroup’s agenda to reduce carbon emissions and play our part in getting to net zero.
“Our new Team Target Zero, as well as the electric vehicle infrastructure and fleet we already have in place, goes a long way to helping our customers achieve that too.”
The launch of the new team follows after SMMT data found that van operators have defered switch to electric due to charge point concerns.
