Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has confirmed pricing and specs for the ID Buzz LWB, which is expected to arrive in the UK before the end of the year.
The new, longer model is available with three rows of seats, an upgraded electric motor with more power and a larger battery.
Prices start at £59,545 for the new model, which is offered in Life, Style and GTX trim levels.
The seven-seat ID Buzz LWB is 250mm longer than the regular model, providing almost 2.5 cubic metres of interior storage space.
Five- and six-seat configurations are optionally available.
In five-seat configuration, the ID Buzz LWB offers luggage compartment volume of 1,340 litres, compared to 1,121 litres in the normal wheelbase model. With seven people on board, there is still 306 litres of space behind the third seat row.
The ID Buzz LWB will be powered by VW's new 286PS electric motor, which gives a 0-62mph acceleration time of less than 8.0 seconds. It will be joined by a GTX variant, with a twin-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain that develops 339PS.
A new 86kWh battery is fitted, which gives a range of 291 miles (WLTP) in the Life and 286 miles in the Style. This can be charged at speeds of up to 200kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in less than 30 minutes.
Other new features of the large electric VW Bus include a head-up display, an upgraded next-generation infotainment system, and remote parking via smartphone. Meanwhile, a newly designed high-tech panoramic sunroof with smart glass brings back memories of the legendary Samba Bus of the 50s.
Standard equipment includes LED headlights, satnav, climate control, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera and parking sensors.
The Style, priced from £64,345, comes with matrix LED lights, power sliding side doors and a power tailgate, head up display and Harman Kardon sound system.
The GTX variant will be available in both standard and LWB variants. In standard length, it uses a 79kWh battery.
Prices for the GTX variant will be released at a later date.
