Vauxhall has introduced a new 48-volt hybrid engine to the Grandland line-up.
Priced from £32,415, the Grandland Hybrid has CO2 emissions of 124-127g/km and a power output of 136PS.
By pairing a 1.2-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, the powertrain is able to return 51mpg. A small (0.89kWh) battery is recharged while driving and through regenerative braking.
Vauxhall says the Grandland Hybrid can travel short distances on electric power alone, at speeds of up to 18mph. As such, in urban areas, up to 50% of the journey can be completed on electric power.
The Grandland Hybrid widens the powertrain options available to fleet and business customers, joining the existing Plug-in Hybrid and GSe variants. Petrol and diesel engines are also available.

In line with Vauxhall’s simplified trim line-up, the Grandland Hybrid is offered in three specifications – Design, GS and Ultimate. Design is priced from £32,415, GS costs £34,685 and Ultimate is £38,335.
In entry-level Design trim, the Grandland Hybrid is equipped with automatic LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels and front and rear parking sensors. Infotainment is provided via a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and there’s a seven-inch digital instrument cluster. Design models also feature speed sign recognition, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking and cruise control.
GS trim adds Vauxhall’s Multimedia Pure Panel Navigation system, consisting of a 10-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster. A wireless charger for mobile devices is also included. For added comfort, GS features heated AGR-approved sports-style front seats, while a heated steering wheel and rear-view parking camera bring further convenience. Visually, GS models are distinguished by 18-inch high-gloss black alloy wheels, a black roof and high-gloss black exterior detailing.
Completing the line-up, Ultimate adds Vauxhall’s adaptive IntelliLux LED Pixel headlights and LED front fog lights. The parking camera is upgraded with a 360-degree panoramic view, while a power operated tailgate and keyless entry and start provide greater ease of use. Advanced driver assist systems, including lane positioning assist and adaptive cruise control, are also reserved for Ultimate trim.
