Trakm8 has developed the company, expanding its work in Ireland. It will now supply telematics, vehicle cameras, and optimisation and fleet management solutions beyond its UK-based work.
It has signed up as an associate member of the Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI).
Through its technology, the group analyses data collected by its base of telematics units to fine-tune the algorithms that are used to produce its solutions; these monitor driver behaviour, identify crash events and monitor vehicle health to provide actionable insights to continuously improve the security and efficiency of both company fleets and private drivers.
Chris Horbowyj, channel sales director at Trakm8, said: “The FTAI is a highly-regarded institution and one that we are proud to join.
“We plan to work closely with the FTAI to showcase our unique efficiency and safety solutions to Irish transport operators.”
The manufacturer of telematics devices monitor driver behaviour analytics, and the company offers value-add solutions including the award-winning RH600 telematics camera; advanced route optimisation software; and Connectedcare vehicle health and status alerts for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and cars.
The RH600 camera is already established with major fleets such as Iceland Foods and Calor Gas. Trakm8 is adding advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to the RH600, which include the ability to monitor distracted driving or driver drowsiness.
Jerry Meredith, business services manager, Freight Transport Association Ireland, said: “We are delighted to welcome Trakm8 as our latest Associate Member.
“Trakm8 is a technology leader in fleet management, insurance telematics, optimisation and vehicle camera solutions, helping fleet operators manage their occupational road safety risk. “
“Telematics and vehicle cameras have a vital role to play in helping transport operators to further improve road safety, cut carbon emissions and reduce costs."
If the driver looks away for a few seconds, for example to check a mobile phone or is nodding off, the RH600 will issue an audible alert. The device can also send footage of the incident to the fleet manager. This ensures the driver has optimal safety during their journey.
Adding to the telematics and cameras, Trakm8 also provides its fleets with route optimisation and fleet scheduling.
