CITROEN has given power to people carriers with the introduction of a 110bhp common rail HDi engine to the Synergie. The engine provides a useful addition to an expanding list of model choices, which now boasts three engines - two diesel, one petrol - three different seating styles and three specification levels.
Finding a winner among people carriers and standing out in the crowd is difficult, mainly because there are so many limits on design. Individuality comes through interior trim, styling, warranties, service intervals, residual values and the dealer network.
We tried the HDi Exclusive, although you can also get the 90bhp turbodiesel and 123bhp 2.0-litre petrol. The Exclusive costs ú22,685 on-the-road and comes in six, seven or eight-seat layout.
