THE British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association has upped the ante in its fight against clocking by making its mileage database more widely available. The move comes a week after Kwik-Fit Fleet gave a major boost to the BVRLA database by pledging to supply it with the mileages of every company car which goes into a branch for a tyre change.
Vehicle Mileage Check has so far enjoyed exclusive access to the BVRLA's mileage information, and managed the one million-plus vehicle database on behalf of the association.
Last week Kwik-Fit Fleet pledged to supply interim mileages on all the company cars it services. But now the BVRLA is in final negotiations to supply the same information to Equifax HPI and Experian as part of its war on clocking.
