CAP Motor Research took the wraps off its Palm Pilot mini-computer on the first day of the Fleet Motor Show. CAP for Palm Pilot is effectively a pocket-sized electronic Black Book designed to create the swiftest vehicle appraisals and valuations - at any location and at any time.

With the power of a PC, the device provides instant access to all the information contained in Black Book, and can be linked to a mobile telephone to upload or download data from other computers or Palm Pilots elsewhere. Additional features include the ability to appraise a vehicle panel by panel, which along with automatic mileage adjustment enables instant valuations whatever the condition of the vehicle.

The Palm Pilot weighs just 5.7 ounces, and measures 120mm x 65mm, making it extremely portable, and all operations are carried out on the touch-sensitive screen so no computer skills are required.
